'40:42' is little more than a remix EP, specifically for Vampire Weekend's song "2021" off their 'Father of the Bride' album, a song I personally believe is the worst damn song on that album. Here, the original song is extended out to 20 minutes each, with the first remix made by Sam Gendel as a jazzy progressive electronic track, while the second remix by Goose is a prog-rock jam session a la Phish. 2021... still thinking about you!
What a pleasant surprise. While it's not necessarily a project I'll be bopping in my car, it is nice to see something as opposed to nothing. It's a vibe.
