This is such a gentle, pleasant and comfortable album, with a simple, but very powerful and sharp production. While it don't push the boundaries of soul or R&B, it's still some of the most genuine outcomes from the genre this year.
Somewhere-In-Between marks a step of growth for Eloise as she incorporates new sounds into her songs while maintaining the original appeals of her debut EP. The project keeps a steady pace throughout and keeps a consistent aesthetic, one which is inspired by old Hollywood. This is gonna be a short little thing because currently am rather busy, but I needed to share my thoughts on this EP because it has some amazingly solid songwriting throughout and deserves more recognition. I’ve had a long two days of traveling and my friend who I’m traveling with suggested this artist, and it’s just so good! If you like Laufey, you would love this project. It specifically feels reminiscent of her first album or prior EP.
