I like to believe all good pop-punk dips into one or more other sub-genres—skate punk, emo, etc.—so artists can create their own unique sound and identity. Because of this, it’s quite difficult (and reductive) to label any album as simply ‘pop-punk.’ Though maybe sometimes it’s not reductive but merely an observation.
