Rating every project of Emma Essex #39 - Squaredance

This album is extremely nostalgic, as songs from it were countlessly remixed and made into YTPMVs (especially Avast Your Ass and Rock My Emotions). It's a forgotten staple of internet culture. I had a blast listening to this, some of the tracks also have great vocals done by Emma!
My only gripe with this album is its length. The tracklist includes stuff from previous releases, which makes it bloated with filler. But when it shines, it's ... read more

Now, we're really surfing the internet super highway.

What a fun silly album. it's amazing to hear something sound dated but not in a bad way. I love how simple yet complex it sounds, everything works so well together to make a beautiful hype chip-tune classic. When it comes to it holding up, it does feel very dated (because it is), but not in a way that makes it seem bad or "cringe". it's such a staple of its time, there's no other era I can put this album in other than 00s internet ... read more

some COOL ASS nostalgic internet songs that are YTPMVs bgm classics! i've been a fan of YTPMVs since soooo many years now and it's always amazing listening to these songs. sadly, they are amongst forgettable ones even though they're still nice
