Failed to leave a lasting impact but was also by no means terrible, so I guess yes, it did exceed my expectations. (Can you really blame me? It's a Nu-Metal album from 2001 with only five ratings including mine.)

On paper, Evolve is not so stale with it's noisy and occasionally strange riffs but in totality it can be somewhat bleak if you're looking forward to listening to it on the long scale.
