Awe-inspiring, spellbinding, and imaginative, Heimdal reflects total authenticity combined with artistic brilliance. If this sublime offering isn’t a modern masterpiece, I’m not sure what is.

Started off strong, but lost a bit of power as it went on. They've got some beautiful soundscapes on here, but I do wish they could've done even more interesting stuff.

I wasn't really looking forward to listening to this because I thought it was going to be bland and boring, turns out, I'm a massive idiot, and this is actually pretty good. I'm probably not going to listen to any of this again but it's grand, epic, and it sounds great, with everything melding together really well.

Heimdal is Enslaved's 16th, YES 16TH!!!, studio album. Enslaved have been around for a while now. Starting in 1991, they've continue to make albums that were pretty enjoyable. But none of them got a lot of peoples attention. Until 2023 with Heimdal being released. the latest (and in their top ten greatest) offering from this group of lads i love so much. They return to their black metal viking/metal roots here more than in years and yet continue to expand simultaneously somehow.
