Metal Sucks

Awe-inspiring, spellbinding, and imaginative, Heimdal reflects total authenticity combined with artistic brilliance. If this sublime offering isn’t a modern masterpiece, I’m not sure what is.

Distorted Sound
You could spend all year listening exclusively to this record and still find new things lurking in the otherworldly depths. Highly recommended.

If more groups follow their creative example, all of metal will benefit.

After over thirty years and 16 studio albums, remarkably, ENSLAVED still find a way to remain true to their origins while defining extreme metal progression.

Kerrang!
Sixteen albums in, that they continue to surprise and create as much as they do is to be celebrated on its own. That it represents their best work in a decade is the triumph of a genuinely magnificent band.

Angry Metal Guy

While not the best in their arsenal, Heimdal is a massive uptick compared to Utgard.

EDITED

They throw a lot of stuff into the mix here ranging from synth and industrial to some rock'n'roll and even dissonant death metal elements. The end result still lacks some degree of ... read more
