Awe-inspiring, spellbinding, and imaginative, Heimdal reflects total authenticity combined with artistic brilliance. If this sublime offering isn’t a modern masterpiece, I’m not sure what is.

Upon several listens I feel like this album is not nearly as bad as it first seemed to me. Yeah, it's definitely not the greatest Enslaved outing but the band still develop their style with more experimentation. As a result on Heimdal they often sound like a black metal equivalent of Dream Theater.
