The run from Lunar Force to Ascension is unbelievably good, these guys are master songwriters. The rest of the album doesn't let down either, it keeps that same level of incredible writing all the way through.
Another great progressive Black metal release by the totally underappreciated band on this site. Although, i can take and leave the intros and Neogenesis does stretch itself too thin and I wish Secrets of the Flesh wasn't slowly an instrumental, they're are so many highs on this record especially the self titled record.

Isa isn't Enslaved's best work. It's definitely not. The production is somewhat underwhelming on here. Yeah, it's black metal but even with all the gimeckery and tradition and everything, they usually do better than than. I've multiple compaints about this album. Cleans are boring, songs aren't as catchy as they sometimes do. Well, all that said Neogenesis is one of their best songs. Enough of a reason to check on this album.
