"Interludium" is a quality, worthy addition to POWERWOLF's expanding discography, but compilation or not, it shows that power metal bands don't take risks anymore. And given POWERWOLF's continued rise through the international metal ranks, they'd be fools to try something different anyway.

I remember when I was around thirteen and going through my first big metal phase, I listened to a lot of finnish late 90s/early 00's power metal with 'Stratovarius' being one of my favourite metal bands at the time. Power metal was the shit. It was so epic and grand. I'm not sure if I've just grown out of this genre, but 'Interludium' is neither of those things. Buckle up, this one will be a doozy.

I wanted to review this album when it came out, similarly to Linkin Park's Meteora (20th Year Anniversary) but due to external factors, I didn't had the time. To compensate, this review will not only touch the main album (whose track ratings will be cast through AOTY's rate tracks feature) but also the two bonus discs, Communio Lupatum II and Interludium Orchestrale.
