This is the pinnacle of "happy medieval power metal". The songs are widely different and not just fast and cheerful noise that other bands in the same ballpark often resort to. Even the story/theme of the album is unique which tells a journey of a emotional person and his improvement to triumph and not just knights swinging swords and killing dragons. I'm not a fan of Japanese power metal, because I need to understand the lyrics to have a full experience. Nevertheless this album is pretty good, although some songs can feel repetitive. The implementation of piano in some songs is always very nice. This style of power metal usually can't feel like a great album, just a good one. The end of the album was a very enjoyable switch of pace and took this album from a ok one to a good one.
This sounds extremely basic without anything unique or new in the genre. The production is uninteresting but not bad, vocals are boring and not impressive. This sound has been done for tens of years, so it gets boring. It's 2023 I would like a bit more innovation or at least something interesting (bad or good). This album feels like air and accomplishes nothing. Literally nothing to talk about. Very hard to decide the best and worst song, all of this sounds the same.
This album has a amazing story with the integrated bonus segments. The producion and sound is smooth and grande, but a bit more folk than the recent releases. The only problem I have is there wasn't a 100/100 song, which I expected to find from their so said best album, as I found two amazing songs from "The God Machine".
Quite a weak Helloween album. Nothing to note, nothing to complain about.
woah. This is the first Kamelot album I've listened to, but I love it instantly. The sound is quite a bit more edgy than other things I've heard in power metal. The epic sound combined heavily with a piano fit very well in this album. The production is also extremely clean and near perfect without any annoying sounds which keeps the piano smooth.
