Clash
New album ‘Fools’ is unafraid to tackle Big Topics – self-doubt, a break-up, the loss of his grandmother – but it’s also a wonderful example of a songwriter doing what comes naturally to him, and revelling in the results.

Would it be an insult to label this elevator music? I’m not feeling it at all. Such a middle of the road easy listening sound, that does nothing to raise the blood pressure nor provide exquisite beauty or relaxation. It’s just there doing its cheesy little things and probs won’t be on again for me though. I don’t get the random tracks with a country feel or find Dan’s voice appealing in the slightest either.

He is back
After hating the fuck out of 'Grand Plan' because it was boring as fuck, 'Fools' brings things back to the Dan Croll I like. Simple, poppy songs. Sadly, they're still very much driven by acoustic instruments and not the electronic shit I enjoyed so much on 'Emerging Adulthood'.
