Perhaps Contraption's first album is a pretty astonishing feat of music, but one that runs out of steam too quickly. While instrumentally, it's pretty amazing, with tracks such as 'Hard Cutlery' bearing intense drumming and guitarwork, I feel like this is where the album peaks, and what follows doesn't do much new or interesting.
