Ok I know the first two manics albums I’ve reviewed here I’ve grilled, but I thought I’d take a quick breather to discuss Nicky Wire’s sophomore solo album that came out this year where I can actually talk about why he’s my favourite artist and the comfort I find in his persona.

Not a huge fan of the sound of this album. Also not a huge fan of Nicky's voice at all. It works well on the odd Manics track, but a full album not so much. The worst part is that it probably could work but there's this horrible overdub or effect on half the tracks that gets rid of what makes Nicky's voice good: it's rawness.
