Irritatingly inoffesnive, maybe one of the weakest players in the pop scene right now. Some pretty generic and cringe lyrics, overstuffed ballads, soundtrack to a shopping centre production; it's a perfect recipe for an unispired pop album. Her vocals and general performance are strong though, if the songs were any good I'm sure she could carry them off very well. There is potential here!
Never heard a Quadeca release before but when it opened with a sample of Deus Lhe Pague I almost shit myself icl, it was so unexpected.
The NME review of this album might genuinely be the worst thing I've ever read. It's so needlessly vitriolic; Johnny Cigarettes' apparent desperation to show off his vocabulary by throwing out as many negative adjectives as possible is truly pathetic and unwarrentedly hostile. This is summed up nowhere better than the opening two sentences:

It's a problem through every track on here, with the lyrics themselves being probably the worst part of the album. Not a single profound or thoughtful idea is presented on here, with ... read more
A few truly outstanding tracks, a few pretty good ones and then Student Demonstration Time. That song alone is keeping this album from above an 80, maybe the most flaccid protest song I've ever heard. The last 4 tracks are almost perfect, with Long Promised Road and Disney Girls being real highlights too. Interesting to hear the Beach Boys be more sombre, I like them better this way I think, which is a shame given one or two tonally out of place tracks on here. Still great though, RIP ... read more
