House music just tends to bring me a lot of joy and a sense of escapism as well. As someone who's been a massive fan of that genre of music since highschool, I just knew I needed to check this out since the genres listed are up my alley, as the phrase goes.

Madres* is an album that immediately feels warm and vibrant. Sofia Kourtesis blends classic house elements with personal stories, field recordings, and a quickly euphoric atmosphere. Listening to it, you notice that *Madres*, despite its club DNA, is quite emotional. Many songs have a euphoric yet melancholic quality. Frontloaded. The first half is BEAUTIFUL, especially the opener holy shit. Then it just fades into the background. Which is a bummer bc I was genuinely thought this was gonna be one of my electronic music favorites
