Such a step from his usual work! Macross 4th LP shows a lot more diverse sounds, mostly in Hip-hop influences. This one is way longer but makes it up with fun, quick, and easily digestible tracks. Production on some tracks sounds cleaner and fresh to the ears. inconsistent but really really fun and charming. the rap elements here were quite interesting but OH MY FUCKING GOD FUN TONIGHT IS ONE OF THE HARDEST FUCKING SONGS IVE HEARD RECENTLY
Man. I really did think I'd like this one a lot.
I came from A Million Miles Away (the album, not literally) and I was hoping to hear how Macross had evolved since that incredible album. Unfortunately, it didn't hit nearly as hard.
The sampling is far more cheesy. The features are bad. The mixing is strange and uncomfortable. It was listenable but not super enjoyable.
