This record shows a lot more hardcore influence than one may first see. Its brutal hardcore delivery carries the weight of the power, allowing the more sludgy pats to come through in a grizzled and ugly way that is polarizing. It falls into that Napalm Death territory where the more bellowed and tenderized it gets the better.
