Chimet

I’ve only listened to a handful of releases that came out this year. But of the ones I have listened to, I think MINING’s Chimet is handily my favourite from this year.

Now, this record is already impressive enough as an ambient/drone record. It achieves this through its massive swells of monolithic synth drones, beautiful and fleeting piano passages and expansive swells of ominous bass.
