Despite its show of technical proficiency, Muted ... suffers for lack of sentiment or expressive accomplishment.
Huh what this was great. And so I now move to another Anticon artist and this one is producer / rapper Alias. And I went with this album as the intro point because those secondaries looked great and thankfully enough that was the case. Muted is a really good Instrumental Hip Hop album with some blends of IDM and Trip Hop. Alias tries very hard to give up, inviting others to share their own vocals before lamenting— "I Would Like To Write A Song Like That..."
Yet & still, he cannot help himself to crafting intricate person-pieces behind boards.
although i quite enjoy the sound of this album, even if that sound is basically just a rip off "music has the right to children" with hip hop influences instead of childlike whimsy, this album drags in a way i think it wouldnt if there was actually rapping on it. i dont think most of these songs have enough going on in them to warrant being 4-5 minutes without vocals. the two songs with features do not nearly feel as long as the rest of the album, but unfortunately those songs arent ... read more
