Its fine. It's certainly catchy but the labeling as "hyperpop metal" thing doesn't sit well with me. This is not nearly as eclectic and eccentric as you would expect from something combining hyperpop and metal, both genres that are typically associated with a lot of energy but there's a lack of that here.
For a song called 'Break the Rules,' this song is pretty damn beholden to them. From song structure to lyrics it couldn't come off as more a cliche. Liam's rapping is as awkward as usual. The production is good, at least as far as niceties go.
