Really strong debut EP from Belo Horizonte duo Paira here, it’s five strong tracks with a bedroom-indie feel to them with some dreamier sounds at times too. What sets it apart is the way the floaty vocal style you can only get this way from Brazilian music comes together with the break-oriented drum patterns found throughout the EP, which provide plenty of punch but in a soft enough way that it doesn’t create clashes in the sound. Definitely an artist I will look to explore more!
