There’s nothing particularly original about Ringthing, although it is a little surprising to hear such a mesmerising offering coming to us from Germany in such a UK swamped field.
The tones, timbres, and sounds that draw listeners to this type of music are all there, but as a whole, Jaguwar struggle to establish their own voice on this debut.
There’s plenty to enjoy on this album. And, whilst the outcome may not have been as radical as they intended, it’s worth peeking under their security blanket of noise.
