Love Rarely’s sound on this record is fuller, more aggressive, and angular than 2024’s Lonely People EP. Pain Travels flutters with fast and uncompromising riffs. Shifting through textured episodes of aggression to sedation, at times it becomes wonderfully unpredictable, but still with enough of a hook to draw you back into the moment.

As it stands, it is safe to say that this is the album that will define the Portland metalcore quintet – asphyxiated with the chilling reminder that horror reveals the beauty in the band’s complex sound.

Whilst the record at times loses its way and becomes lost in the concept, there are moments that give the plot points it needs to truly become a thrilling story. The world is complex, and like emotions, has so much meaning that it is almost impossible to understand in its entirety. There is so much that makes its album what it is.

The flow of the album is great and will be even greater in a live setting. The album does not have anything to prove because LAMBRINI GIRLS already know who they are.
