With the court of public opinion on their side, and a statement piece like this, Where The Light Leaves could change the game.
It’s not been easy for Varials of late, but Where The Light Leaves is a snarling beast that bodes well for their new chapter.
The only thing I'm looking for from Varials is for them to do what they usually do, which is slam me in the face with stank face-inducing Beatdown riffs, pissed screams, crunchy bass tones, angry lyrics and PHAT production, as they've been doing since their inception, and that's exactly what I got. Thank you very much. A little same-y, but still pretty good
I miss Travis Tabron tho

this is literally just a wall of sound for the entire album, every song sounds the same
I love the production on here. Just sounds like a bunch of shit exploding. Makes it really heavy and gives a ton of energy. I honestly had a good time with this listen. Sure it can get a little repetitive and blend together, but I thought that this was some good, simple beat down hardcore that delivered a nice punch to the face. Calling WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES an angry listen would honestly undermine the amount of energy the vocal performances give and pure brutality of the song writing. It is a ... read more
Skyler Conder's vocals are something else, man. To hear him and Kyle Medina on a song would be dope as fuck I reckon.
This album is aggressive as hell but has very deep emotional weight to it. The Hurt Chamber and Romance II (the best song off the record) are as haunting as they are headbang worthy.
The album, although sounding fantastic does get fairly repetitive near the end, and a few songs at the start all kind of blur into one for me, but it isn't really an issue when all of the ... read more
Metalcore HEVY album. Blanketed me with disgusting screams, chugging, filthy bassline. As a package, it's a 37 minute mood setter for straight HEVY feels. Tracks are super similar to each other, but it's a decent heavy mood setter and you can't ask for more.
Just disgustingly heavy, every breakdown sounds angry enough to punch through concrete. The atmosphere is way moodier than I expected too, which keeps it from feeling like another basic “tough guy” Metalcore album.
