What a record, huh? Captain it’s still the first minute.
Well, this wasn’t on my bingo card. I knew I would love this album, since the singles were phenomenal, but I didn’t expect it to be a ten. Sometimes I feel like I’m too generous, but then I look at what I rated so highly and think: “Nah, I just love this” and this is one of those cases. I originally was hesitant to give this a ten, but after a few more listens, I couldn’t deny it anymore. This is ... read more
Immature, unimpressive and annoying.
Even before the beef Drake was always childish, never reflected in any meaningful way and moves his ass around like a 5-year-old to petty to acknowledge he did something wrong. Those tendencies only worsened after he got utterly seated by Kendrick, now he throws out the “I’m hated”, “it’s lonely at the top” and “look who switched up on me” cards even more, instead of actually addressing and working through his ... read more
Straight to the point and absolutely spot on.
While I’m also a sucker for more abstract lyrical content and lyrics, I also appreciate it if someone can directly point out issues and doesn’t mince their words. Genesis Owusu has never been a stranger to being socially aware or critical, but on “REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE” he goes further and lays out a concept of on one hand his frustration and even hatred for people like Elon Musk, Trump or the general ... read more

Periphery was almost always a band that knew how to make djent / progressive metalcore but on here there are only flashes of what made most of their previous work great. I mean it is not necessarily bad, just unimaginative, by the numbers and stale a lot of the times. While this album has all the parts that could in theory make a good album, there is just no creativity felt like on the rest of their albums, and I can tell you exactly why that happened. In an interview Misha ... read more
Indonesian vegan straight edge metalcore.
The Indonesian scene has been so great lately with bands like Right On Target or Ezalor. I don’t have to tell you about the lyrical content of a vegan straight edge band, I only have to emphasize, that it is sick as hell. The riffage, the vocals and the drum work all go hard and leave not much to be desired. Especially the moments where the riffage gets to shine are the most interesting ones and make for a big highlight to me.

What @Kedux said.
Vulcano themed straight edge with a car speaker mix sounds like a great idea and it sounds exactly like that. Just great blaring hardcore about the fucking Vesuvius, like it doesn’t get more hardcore than this. Normally I would criticize a mix like this, but the blasted-out speaker sound complements the energy and riffage nicely, so I’ll just enjoy it.
Overall, I really love their thematic approach and how well it compliments their sound.
