Instead of just doing some more "tough guy metalcore", Varials have chosen to follow a more modern approach to their music following the nu metalcore trend that has been gaining notoriety thanks to bands such as Alpha Wolf or Tallah. It's a bit too long for what it actually is though, and it also feels a bit disorganized for some reason but overall is decent.
Super dark record with some insanely impressive cuts like The Love Machine, I Suffocate, Romance or I Against I. It was my first album by Varials, but after a few songs I already liked it. The vocal performance is just mad impressive honestly. I come back to this once in a while, but it's not a go2 record for me or something that I could listen to for hours. Still really nice for the most part.
This album is insane. Unlike the first album which mostly consisted of lyrics blaming other for his pains/ problems, In Darkness has an internal take. Exploring many dark themes that only add to the eeriness of the album. This albums production by Josh Schroeder is perfect. It's extremely heavy sounding while also sounding very clean.
