This album feels like a marathon. Jeff built the skills, developed his sound and style, and is now going full throttle. I love that the first half of this album is filled with fantastic tracks, and then the rest transitions so well with each other, making it feel like you're blasting through the album.
Overall, an album that I'll be repeating again and again and again because it works so well for an album with only around 30 minute mark
Surge Protector manages to capture the collaborative energy that Bomb Squad had. However, instead of risking an overly complex mix, the album focus solely on Chris, making a well-balanced 50/50 project.
I would’ve given this above 80 because, throughout this whole album, I really enjoyed it. The drums are a big highlight of this album with their various rhythms and drive. The vocals are great, and even though there were catchy lines and discussions of relevant topics, I can’t help but think it could delve deeper into the subject matter - which is why it's a 78.
Overall, it was fun and made me proud to be a Brightonian!
