There is something about the singers voice that im not too big a fan of. I think besides that kingfishr are a solid enough band. Killeagh is heat.
The singer isn't amazing, but the song is peppy and theres nothing incredibly good or bad about it, so its easy to be nice to.
Unsure how much of my opinions on this song are skewed due to the fact that I'm in a relationship which makes trying to empathize with the "emotions" on display in this song, but this song, and artist for that matter, scream manufactured heartbreak, and something about that rubs me the wrong way.
edit 25 -> 40: I guess its not so offensively bad to warrant that low of a score, but its certainly not something I would be interested in revisiting anytime soon.
we're so back.
The first two singles off of this upcoming album had me worried that this album would only be "okay". However, this track has BCNR back in full stride, performing at the top of their respective abilities. This album still likely will not rival AFUT for me, but I'm incredibly excited for what this new face of the band has to offer.
An improvement on the last single for sure, i'm still not entirely convinced on the new form of the band but i think this is a step in the right direction.
Every lyric in this song is so politically charged, its almost impressive how little it moves the listener. The worst timeline is where this guy is hailed as the musical successor to John Prine or Bob Dylan.
Wow, i am shocked by how little I enjoyed this. I had pictures this album being such an incredible masterpiece that I was scared to listen to it, because you only get to hear music for the first time once. After having listened to it, it is really just okay in all departments, with the added bonus of will toledo coming off extra annoying this time around for whatever reason. This is so disappointing :(

Every word Jesse Welles “sings” is a spit in the face to the actually talented artists within this niche. He insists on filling his songs with as many politicized buzz-words as possible to make it seem like he has any kind if stance on anything, but just like the rich men north of richmond guy (albeit to a lesser extent) this guys music is a whole lot of meaningless slop, done up to sound like the singer is passionate about anything at all.
I came into this with really high expectations, and i feel like this single ended up being quite underwhelming. Still solid enough, but lacking all the passion and emotion that I felt from the singles of AFUT and much of live from bush hall.
