This surprise collab that dropped outta no where is a dream come true for me as a ONE OK ROCK fan since 2011 & an ARMY since 2020. When news of Taka & Toru wrote the track Falling for Jin's solo debut EP came out i thought that was crazy because i never imagined their worlds would collide in ANY kind of way, but to get Taka feature with Jin on a Japanese version of Falling???
I am blown away. The korean version was already my favorite track off the EP and this collab just elevated ... read more
Back in around 2011, i first watched a video of their live performance of the song Bikini Sports Pochin at a music festival (i think it was Summer Sonic??) and felt impressed. This album was my first introduction to the band and i genuinely enjoy the whole album. Perfect album to listen to when you're feeling angry or pissed lol.
Ryo's vocals was the highlight for me & hearing Nao's vocals near the end of Zetsubou Billy makes me wish she sings with that kinda register more ... read more
Eventhough Jungkook is not my bias, i had such high expectations for his solo album because he's such a talented singer & songwriter considering how he co-wrote some songs in BTS and for Festa. With that said, it's kinda evident he is not really interested in his solo work despite how talented he is. Golden is an extremely basic pop album. It's not bad, but it's not spectacular either given what we know of Jungkook's actual capabilities. It's like he reserves ... read more
I don't know much about this group and i don't even know the members' names or what their background history is. I'm purely reviewing based on the album i listened to (i have never even watched their MVs). And i have to say they absolutely cooked with this album. I don't know if they're a self-produced band or if the songs are handed to them, but as someone who enjoys rock & J-rock genre, this album is right up my alley.
As someone who is reviewing this album purely based on listening to the album without diving into how and why it's made, i might be off with my judgement & assumptions, but... This is a prime example of an album made for the arts, not for the charts. An album with alot of tracks ranging more than 3 or 4 or 5 minutes? And there's even a track over 7 minutes??? So unheard of these days in the era of streaming.
Beautiful instruments, and i watched the beautiful MV reminiscing The ... read more
Trying to find my fellow lock/unlock enthusiasts. I won't tolerate slander to that track. It's my favorite j-hope song of all time
This album has a few bangers. But the difference in production quality btwn tracks is pretty jarring. Also the flow of the tracklist doesn't transition that well at times
What an amazing single this was. I enjoyed the beta version of Nothing Helps even before they added the drums intro into the album. Kasabuta is such an underrated gem song i wish it could have made it into the album instead of being an unknown single b-side.
Deeper Deeper: 99/100
Nothing Helps (beta version): 90/100
Kasabuta: 100/100
An album that perfectly encapsulates BTS on where they stand after successfully completing their military service and coming back to the music scene; to take back what's theirs, dipping back to their roots, while embracing their growth all these years into global icons.
The first half of the album is very experimental while the second half sounds somewhat nostalgic & familiar. I was bewildered by track No.29 at first, but after giving it some thought it's actually a nice break ... read more
Masterpiece. Dare I say this album is the epitome of the uniqueness of ONE OK ROCK sound that distinguishes them from other rock bands and is still regarded by alot of fans as their best album to date.
While i do love a few of the main songs on this album, most of the b-sides are either very forgettable or just....a little bit cringe (*coughHelloKittycough*)
Fans often regard this album as ONE OK ROCK's weakest/experimental album, but i think it absolutely has a different kind of charm to it different from the OOR sound that fans love. For me this album is perfect for doing house chores or during car drives. It lifts my mood instantly.
Didn't expect Jin to release another album so soon just after a few months of releasing Happy. Makes me kinda wish he would put on hold and release a proper full length album instead of releasing 2 EPs in such a short period of time, but i can also kind of understand why he released his works the way he did. He didn't want ARMYs to have to wait for too long for his solo music after he had left for military service for years, which is sweet and thoughtful of him to do so.
Now onto ... read more
