Despite all that is going on, I found it difficult to get anything from this :( Some definitely cool production techniques and sound use, I just wasn’t particularly drawn to any of it. The vocals are a bit extravagant for me, feels almost satirical. There was still a lot to like, and it being something I’m very much not familiar with made it a very fresh experience. I’m open to hearing more in a similar vein, just not sure if it’s something I’d return to or seek ... read more
“Gave her the love I set aside”
The second coming of the Lorde, it would seem. Very shocked by how much this took me into a chokehold, her voice carries similar gravitas to Lana Del Ray at times, with very interesting electronic production to back it up. There’s the foundations for something phenomenal laid out, but there’s still some room for her to come into her own. Where the melodies falter into more a basic routine, there’s always something to hang onto until ... read more
----------- REVIEW #300 -----------
I think this must have similar frequency to sun-rays, drenched and soft.
Extraordinarily gorgeous ambience, these are deceivingly simple songs that burst with life. One of the only things that can effectively reassure me whenever I need it. Contains the best parts of summer; the haze of the heat, the longer days, the smell of cut grass.
I’d listen to this as the train bridged the Tay, staring out toward the water, hazy and drunken in the heat. The ... read more
“Keeps the senses razor sharp, and does the body good”
Both devastatingly heavy and wistfully soft, this aches and groans and simmers. Love the environment this plunges you into, feels desperate and hungry. The lyrics are extremely well written, very captivating. I love how subtle his voice is in the grand scale of the songs, such a great contrast. Everything about this is meticulously executed, a stunning piece of work. This is a long, apocalyptic stretch and the relief that ... read more
“If you wanted me out tonight, we will have to let go of time”
Extremely lovely EP, it’s not often that you find such beautiful vocals on a Midwest Emo related project. Reminds me a little of that 2000-10s indie wave of uplifting tone (which I suppose lines up with when this was released), it really works here, feels very inviting and cosy. That first track especially, so so good.
A real shame that it’s so short and that this is the only output from the band. A full ... read more
Wonderfully crafted, little to no complaints. Really love the mix on this, emphasises everything just enough while remaining noisy and fuzzy. Her voice fits perfectly, really big fan of this.
It’s very impressive that this can hold steady for 40 minutes and still feel refreshing, given how close knit the sound is. It feels very warm, yet distant. Just a little more variety would've sold this fully to me, but even as is, it’s a fantastic project that has quickly become amongst ... read more
This sounds very dated at best, lacks something interesting to come back to. There’s many other things like this that are more palatable and more appealing, the brostep aspects really don’t work for me here. Besides that, there are some moments that are alright, but nothing crazy enough to warrant listening through this again :(

This isn’t bad by any means, it just feels very basic. It’s very much a worse Ninajirachi, intended or not, and it just doesn’t sound good to me. The vocals are not my thing at all, they feel far too theatrical, to extremes that really detriment the album. Nothing stands out or feels very original, I’m really struggling to find anything to hold onto :( A very solid effort, just doesn’t hit the mark.

“Hah, we won!”
I’m finding it difficult to even articulate what I think of this thing, it’s vastly interesting and intricate, with so many different elements it makes my head spin. I really like quite a lot of this, the indietronica elements particularly, it’s the vocal moments that get me struggling the most, very hit and miss in that department. I do love the voiceover that appears with lines throughout, gives a good anchor to hold onto amidst the chaos.

“Did you know, did you know?”
More of the same beautifully produced tracks, this is a short and sweet collection that makes every minute count. The soothing beats and interesting, unique cadences make for something so addicting. Endless replay value, he simply can’t do any wrong.

“I promise if you take my hand, I won’t let go”
He’s back!!! With a surprise drop at the tail-end of April, I was extremely excited to listen to this. It’s a very relaxing RnB listen, a lot of substantial and energetic songs with stellar production, alongside a few interlude/shorter ones to balance it out. I feel this could’ve been refined a little further, and by the end it starts to feel a little repetitive with its palette, but overall a very charming and ... read more
“Leave me to rot on these old, vacant roads”
Holy shit. These guys are extremely good, the screams are powerful, the noise digs into you, the ambient interlude perfectly breaks up the violence. Very well crafted, the end of “Marina” is such a beautiful moment, I’m in awe. Massively recommend this.

I really appreciate the concept and the way it presents these themes and motifs, it just doesn’t come together very well as an album. It is very sluggish, a few stand out moments are surrounded by the many mediocre tracks, but they don’t do quite enough to salvage the whole experience. It feels very much like something conceived through the pandemic, very of its era in that respect. Very standard and inoffensive, “Marea” is very beautiful, though.

“Love can be disheartening, darling”
Really interesting soundscape, can’t really compare this to anything else, sounds very mechanical and futuristic. I thought this started very strong but tapered off nearer the end, landing a little flat for me with the last few songs. Love the ambient influence across some of this, very captivating listen, even if it loses a little steam.

"I need you more than ever"
As a bonus continuation of the first album, it's pretty nice, but with there being near two decades separating the projects, this is lackluster as a grand comeback. I like the detail that every song starts with the title, similar to every song ending with title on LP1, but when that's the most interesting thing about it, it's a worrisome sign.
It is pretty and quite lush, but also slightly dragging and unimaginative. It's more like ... read more
Probably my most highly anticipated project of this year, I was blown away with “Bad Moons” due to its instrumental and let down by “No Feeling” due to its strange mix and vocals, so I went in hopeful though slightly apprehensive.
The biggest issues with this album are the repetition and Mr. Kinsella, if this was an instrumental album, I would like it a lot more, but even then, a lot of these songs just exist with no meaning, and a fair share of the riffs blend ... read more
"You really wanna know?"
Really interesting and unique take on a darker scramz project, extremely drenched and heavy moments surrounded by melodic Midwest Emo elements make for an almost push and pull feeling throughout that I enjoy a lot. Feels crushing yet relieving. Great EP.

"It's raining, take shelter"
Very solid screamo, the screams being so low in the mix at times creates a cool atmosphere. "I'll Be Seeing Ya" is an incredible track, definite stand out. Great crop of tracks.

"I'm floating facedown right beside you"
A great follow up that has a good portion of more reigned in moments that make the louder sections all the more impactful. Takes the edge over the prior release for me due to its expanded range of sounds, very great listen.
