----------- REVIEW #300 -----------
I think this must have similar frequency to sun-rays, drenched and soft.
Extraordinarily gorgeous ambience, these are deceivingly simple songs that burst with life. One of the only things that can effectively reassure me whenever I need it. Contains the best parts of summer; the haze of the heat, the longer days, the smell of cut grass.
I’d listen to this as the train bridged the Tay, staring out toward the water, hazy and drunken in the heat. The ... read more
“It’s hard to grip what’s hard to hold”
Daughter of Dave Grohl makes a better album than Dave Grohl. Very standard grungy indie rock, many influences are extremely audible throughout, but it’s a solid listen. Nothing too special, but has some really killer songs that are just so well made. Most of these just feel quite unoriginal though :( Can’t complain too much, because they do sound great, just gets a little old. Impressive debut.

“Tip-toe as I go from A to B”
A collection of short and sweet bursts of energy, pleasantly surprised by this! Nothing too complex or unexpected, but it sounds great and is a really satisfying listen. Wish this was longer and more developed, really love the noisier sections and how they contrast the otherwise quite serene atmosphere.
Favourites: Doorway, Shady, DMT

I can absolutely appreciate and respect her finally leaving her label and making what she wants to make, and a lot of this ... read more

"So that the Universe felt love,
by which, as somebelieve,
the world has many times been turned to chaos.
And at that moment this ancient rock,
here and elsewhere, fell broken into pieces.”

I wasn't so sure of the single, but upon relisten here, it sets up a suitably ominous and urgent atmosphere going into ... read more
"Let's play it back and see what it sounds like"
After a prolonged absence, they return with something deeply foreboding, almost prophetic. This is the precipice of the end of the world. The second track is brimming with dread, setting this new tone perfectly. This album feels more focused, more deeply driven than anything they've done before. It lurches forward and feels frustrated, yet at times completely ambivalent, floating in a brewing apocalypse. I think this is on ... read more
