“I believed in you, saviour, come save me”
I admit, I went into this with low hopes, given how saturated shoegaze and dream pop are, but I am pleasantly shocked. While it doesn’t do much original, it nails the production (self produced too!) which is essential to the experience. It’s difficult for me to dislike this. There’s a reason this sound has become so prevalent, it has such an allure to it.
I love the more ambient areas of this album, I think it adds a much needed depth to the overarching noise of it all. The end picks things up very well, particularly the mostly instrumental build of “Alfie”. The serenity of the final track is such a pretty addition that solidifies this album for me. Glad I gave this one a chance, it keeps growing on me.
