PinkPantheress - Fancy That
90

i have been sitting with this album for a long time because it is almost too good. pinkpantheress seemingly knows something that we don't here because damn. the fucking panic at the disco sample like hello? i knew from the moment tonight released that this would be earth shattering, world shaking, pussy popping, incredible music and she DELIVERED. i love this project. amen.

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA

she's so crazzzzzzy! love her!

Charli xcx - BRAT
90

brat is a timeless collection of eclectic electro-poetry and its smashing success is a musical cultural achievement to be celebrated. it continually proves itself to be wildly healthy and integral for the pop ecosystem. i can only hope and pray that brat will continue to become a keystone album. we need the diversity charli is pushing with this. we don’t need copycats floating on radio stations and spotify curated playlists, but we need what brat embodies: authenticity and intensity and ... read more

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
97

this is an album that feels more like a brilliant woven collection of poems than just a series of songs, and i don't think anyone could sing this as meaningfully as cameron winter does. this some of the most beautiful and deeply moving music i've ever heard to the point that it's difficult to put words to it- rather, it's all more like a feeling. like a deep seated ache in your chest or feeling your heart drop. ouch. every concept here, every metaphor, every lyric is in ... read more

oh my god hatsune miku shoegaze.

julia wolf really delivered here man. something about the sound here really scratches an itch. some painfully relatable songs as well that made the itch feel more like an open wound, but i try to not account that into my rating too much. this is enjoyably edgy and very catchy.

De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising
80

some of the coolest sampling i’ve heard in hiphop

Hum - You'd Prefer an Astronaut
70

i don’t understand why the album cover is teal here but green on streaming. anyway I like this

Bladee - Ingen hör
NR

his swedish is so good he almost sounds like a native speaker…

Mydreamfever - 3. How I See Nothing but You
NR

decidedly haunting for the majority of the run, then the final track sees warmth bloom. kind of reminds me of watching a colorful sunrise the day after a blizzard sweeps through your town. love this and how it extends from the first two albums in this series!

Oklou - viscus
91

this may be one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard!!!

Oklou - choke enough
83

enjoyed this a lot, been liking atmospheric pop recently. underscores feature! feels a little floaty

Jane Remover - ♡

she never misses! flash in the pan is prob one of my fav songs of all time atp

kuru - re:wired

i like this, some of the tracks fell flat but the good ones are great. vo://id probably one of the best digicore songs i’ve ever heard. didn’t realize jane produced some of this but that’s neat

Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
90

very good. this feels like lazing on a rocking chair on the wraparound porch at my grandparent’s house. it’s moving but in a comforting way. also the first bob dylan album i’ve heard because i was enchanted by ‘idiot wind’ and was curious to hear more. maybe i’ll check out his discography further someday

Mydreamfever - 1. Silence Is the New Noise
NR

i believe this album exists as necessary context for mydreamfever’s ongoing numbered series, it exists to create fullness for his collection of albums. it is the first of many for a reason and i find it to be important. “silence is the new noise,” as in, think twice about what you hear. i appreciate this as part of a whole. these aren’t songs to listen to casually but a project to be experienced fully

Mydreamfever - Rough and Beautiful Place
73

“moment is now” really blew me away

TURQUOISEDEATH - Se Bueno
95

“se bueno” is how i’d imagine it would sound to come back to life. the album opens slowly with the scratch of a lenc on paper, a gentle breeze, and birds chirping, almost like they’re telling you it’s time to wake up. a voice whispers to you something unintelligible— you’re too tired to make sense of it all yet, but the cool synths are fading in like the sun is rising. you feel the warmth on your face and your eyes tracd the purple shadows cast around ... read more

Slaughter Beach, Dog - Acolyte
100

this is such an incredible little song. it does absolutely everything asked of it. there's something so beautiful about it's simplicity. the couple's grand fantasies of leaving small slaughter beach, the soft descriptors of smirks and drinks and hotel bars, and the lengthy musical interludes make it almost impressionistic. it gives just the perfect amount of lyricism to tell a story that, when cushioned by the warm soundscape, will resonate with anyone who's loved before. ... read more
