First Listen Opinion: This is easily the best Drake album since More Life. How can people seriously think this is worse than Her Loss?
I love Joey Badass but this album feels so repetitive, unlike it's predecessor that he's attempting to sequel/emulate, '1999'.
This album felt like a weird way to try and attempt a sequel. It feels like instead of building on the idea or sound of 1999 and trying to make it better, it sounds like he tried to emulate it instead.
I don't think this album deserves the hate it's getting. Yes it's repetitive, yes it's not amazing, but I will give props to Drake for trying something new and different.
Yes this may not be the best step forward, but at least it is a step. CLB and Scorpion did not feel like steps, they felt like safe albums, and did what had previously worked.
