Lupe Fiasco will always be regarded as one of the few modern musicians that is able to transcend the barriers of entertainment, being able to create otherworldly concepts, filled with artistry, pure genius, and exquisite wordplay while appeasing both the critics and the fans.

Nonetheless, despite his natural talents, his career leading up to the release of ‘Tetsuo & Youth’ had been quite of a tumultuous one, being followed with controversies regarding both his political ... read more

SNOOZEFEST, PRESENTED BY JOJI.

Coming into this album, I was expecting a more mature, collected and improved Joji. Singles like ‘Run’ and ‘Gimme Love’ showed immense amounts of promise, raising my expectations to unsuspected levels; even ‘Daylight’ featured some remarkable moments as well. ‘Sanctuary’, on the other hand, was the predecessor of what we would finally get with ‘Nectar’, a melting pot of poorly executed lo-fi, ... read more

Holy f*ck, does this go hard. The lyrical content is sharp and filled with wittiness, the deliveries are well-paced and I cannot praise that grimy, obscure instrumental enough. Quite excited for the upcoming ... read more

Keem definitely has a great ear for beats and production. There’s not much to say about these two songs. The verses on ‘hooligan’ are just fine, and the instrumental is quite nice as well; ‘sons & critics freestyle, though features sub-par lyricism, ... read more

MY WHIP COLOR LOOK LIKE RIHANNAAAAAAA

At the time of this album’s release, Freddie had already touched the sky with what is considered to be one of the greatest gangsta rap albums to ever be created. Alongside legendary producer Madlib, Freddie served us with some vintage, old-school, immersive songs that depicted scenes of violence, crime, and drug use, being a reflection of the artist’s roots.

With ‘Shadow of a Doubt’, Freddie approaches these topics in a more ... read more

SHINJI, GET IN THE FUCKING ROBOT

Jokes aside, I honestly think that one of the main reasons why Evangelion is considered among the greatest pieces of audiovisual art is because of the way its Soundtrack is able to reinforce certain emotions and ideas that the series portrays, enhancing the quality of the overall product, being this song the culmination of this symbiosis between mesmerising visuals and hard-hitting, emotional melodies. The fact that this song holds such special value in my ... read more
