Self Esteem - A Complicated Woman
5

Y’all ever heard of the payola scandal? This is the 2025 equivalent of that except the music is way worse and instead of air time it’s reviews from critics who likely don’t give 2 shits.

Radiohead - Spectre
95

How this was chosen over fucking Sam Smith of all people is nuts, but this is some peak Radiohead right here. Top 10.

Tom Jones - Tom
NR

Something’s off

Elvis Presley - He Touched Me
NR

Elvis please don’t pour out your trauma onto your listeners :(

Quadeca - Voice Memos
20

Mind you he went from this to Vanisher in 6 years.

100

I know I’ve never said this before, but this album may genuinely end up in my top 5 albums of all time. Yes I said it.

Rod Wave - Last Lap
NR

Titles that are blatant lies #1

Soul Coughing - Irresistible Bliss
80

The most unknown of Soul Coughing albums surprisingly has their most popular song. Not much to talk of here, just feels like a Ruby Vroom re-hash. Paint May genuinely qualify as one of the most underrated SC songs.
Best Songs: Paint, Super Bon Bon
Worst Song: Sleepless

Deftones - Koi No Yokan
84

Masterfully produced and one of the best post-Lateralus metal albums. This is also one of my first 10 CDs, so it will forever be in my debt.
Best Songs: Tempest, Poltergeist
Worst Song: Goon Squad (who the fuck are you I thought I hired goons)

Emily Montes - Emily Montes
50

I have no idea if this is comedy or not but this was one of the weirdest listens I ever partook in
Best Tracks: N/A
Worst Tracks: N/A

Swans - To Be Kind (Album Sampler)
NR

Michael Gira: (uses Rotate tool) That’s about good,

Gorillaz - Demon Days: Live from the Apollo Theater
90

A personal favourite pickup from my RSD run this year: Gorillaz do their best album live, and let’s just say they succeed heavily at it. I won’t spoil too much, but I loved it.
Best tracks: You’ll never know ;)
Worst tracks: Buy it to experience for yourself on Discogs

The Mars Volta - Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio
90

The Mars Volta see a return to form on this album, making it my favourite album of theirs since The Bedlam In Goliath. It’s hard to see a band that’s had so many ups and downs have a great album this far into their career (i.e. Mark Kozelek with Benji), and while their last two albums didn’t impress me, this certainly does.
Best Songs: Lucro sucio, Voice in my knifes, Cue the sun
Worst song: Fin

Bon Iver - SABLE, fABLE
70

I know I’m late to the party, but this Bon Iver album is just alright. I still enjoyed it thoroughly, but not as much as stuff like Blood Bank or For Emma, Forever Ago.
Best Songs: S P E Y S I D E, There’s a Rhythmn
Worst Songs: …, Day One

Ken Carson - More Chaos
55

The beat on LiveLeak was fucking insane, but other than that, a meh record.
Best Tracks: LiveLeak, Xposed
Worst Tracks: 2000, Confetti

Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong
90

Black Country, New Road should be a religion, ‘cause god DAMN am I a believer in the fact their music will always be great.
Best Tracks: For The Cold Country, Salem Sisters
Worst Track: The Big Spin

"To be fair, you need a high IQ to understand not just Pulse Demon, but also most of Merzbow’s discography. Noise is not music here. Noise is rather art here. You can choose to listen to and thereby review the album if you want. It may just be chaos to you, but to me, it’s more anti-musical, like Trout Mask Replica or the post-awareness stages of EATEOT."
