Black Sabbath

Everything about the aesthetic of this album from its sound, to its cover, to its lyrics, is all so perfectly haunting and eerie in accordance with each other. The intro, Black Sabbath, sets off the tone of the album with its menacing guitar riffs, matched with the provocative lyrics describing an encounter with evil personified. On release day, I remember MUSIC being very polarizing, with many defending it and arguing it to be one of Carti’s best works, and the rest calling it an unfinished mess that wasn’t worth the 4 and a half year wait. While part of that is true, being a 34 song album including the deluxe, there is still plenty of high quality tracks and some of Carti’s best work and performances on it. Seriously one of my favorite albums released in 2025. Really glad to see slayr getting popular at the moment after continuing his streak of high quality albums following Gaia 2 and HeavenTunes with Half Blood.
