Boring and uninspired follow up to what I thought was an incredible debut album. All the energy that I liked in Riki (2020) are completely stripped away in Gold. A very lovely offering from Salt Lake City synthpop act Choir Boy. As a followup to their 2016 debut album, Passive With Desire, Adam Klopp and company expand on their mellow and optimistic yet gloomy sound. With the production greatly improved, the songwriting shines a lot brighter and highlights Adam's uniquely gorgeous voice even better than before. The singles are major highlights, and the deep cuts compliment and round out the record very well.
