The show isn't just better with the soundtrack, it was entirely built around this type of music, so you'd expect the soundtrack to be pretty good.
Super influential too, probably being what made people associate lo-fi hip hop with anime and influencing lo-fi hip hop itself. As for the actual soundtrack, it's your usual chill hip hop beats from Nujabes and I never knew about fat jon but he does a pretty good job, not as good as Nujabes but it's still overall amazing.
One of my favorite anime and the soundtrack plays a big part on why. It's obviously better with the the show but that's the point of a soundtrack, right? So many amazing songs, The Cruel Angel's Thesis is on par with battlecry for my fav anime intro. Most songs here sound almost happy or calm, which contrast the mental shit from the anime and I think it does it really well.

I love the tropical soundscape and while shoegaze/dream pop isn't anything new, this album does something different it sounds pretty idk how to explain it
