My favourite James Blake album of all time and a fantastic return to his electronic roots, with assistance from the likes of Brian Eno and Rick Rubin, you can hear the amount of time and passion put into this project. Likely will remain one of my favourite James Blake albums, if not favourite albums in general for many years to come.
my introduction to Aphex Twin, and holy shit what a great introduction to the electronic mind-fuck i didn't really understand at first. But this album was a great, very laid back and pleasant listen while I was stoned outta my ass.
i've only listened to one The Strokes record aside from this one, that being "Is This It" which released in 2001 and was pretty good, but had a lot of low points sonically that I didn't really fuck with.
the production on the record screams of "romantic comedy OST" which isn't a GREAT first impression back to the sounds they bring, however i think the lyrical contents of the first few tracks and the instrumentation overall was good enough to allow them to slack a bit on the ... read more
