Working with Dr. Luke after the allegations just shows how hollow and pointless the messaging is. She sings about women's empowerment while working with someone who, in practice, stands for the opposite. Overall, the songs are bland and lack any inspiration. The lyrics are awkward and dated. In media, one of the worst things you can be is boring; there's a reason this album was basically DOA.
It had potential to be an average song, but the style of singing the singer uses is deeply unpleasant and grating on the ear. I say style of singing because it's not even that they're a bad singer; it's the vocal distortion combined with the brightness of their voice that honestly isn't mixed well that makes it hard to listen to. If she had worked with a better producer/mixer and switched her style of singing, it also could've been better.

Overall, I think her voice fits lower-range songs best. Which is why I liked the songs "Does Anybody Love Me" and ... read more
Beautiful vocals, album cover, and melodies. I can definitely see the Laufey influence in her style of singing and general jazz-inspired songwriting. Last September is the song that stands out to me the most. It diverges a bit from the rest of the album due to the melancholic feel, but it also felt the most unique to me.
