Butterfly is the epitome of a Magnum opus with hip hop tracks such as The Roof, Breakdown, and Honey . This shows that Mariah Carey is not just an adult contemporary girl-next-door singer with a mellifluous voice but a woman who can match the flow of Bone Thugs' n Harmony, and covering Prince.
A pop bible with songs like Fantasy, Underneath The Stars, and Open Arms to R&B and Funk songs like One Sweet Day, Melt Away, and Long Ago. Daydream is an album with a good range of genres delving into the urban contemporary market and is truly ahead of it's time

Music Box is the epitome of Mariah Carey pre 1995, an album filled with ballads with some up beat tracks such as Now That I Know and Dreamlover. Some might find the album a bit repetitive with the lyrical theme and production and I agree, I've Been Thinking About You has a weak and repetitive chorus with the only notable thing about the song being the bridge and is a filler track. Overall, the album has a very strong first part but a weak second part to the album.
