[OKAY. HEAR ME OUT. #4]

So, seems like people really, REALLY don't like Mindless Self Indulgence, but I really liked their last effort, You'll Rebel To Anything a LOT, so I hope they're not a one-album wonder and only made one thing worth listening, but it seems people hate this a lot more than YRTA, so... I'm a bit more cautious on listening. But I'm still optimistic since I loved their last one.

Never Wanted To Dance is exactly what I'd expect from SMI at this point, and I'm sorry, it kicks ass. It's the same fun insanity I've been hoping for from the last album, and it's just a kick in the face, and some surprisingly good singing near the end by Jimmy which I'm not used to hearing, but it's a welcome surprise! Evening Wear continues with the same stuff that it seems everyone else hates, but I really like this song as well, it's stupid but well. I'm kinda expecting that from MSI, just a bunch of fun stupidity I can turn my brain off and have fun listening to, with the occasional hidden message. Lights Out starts out with a completely badass guitar/bass/whatever intro, and is FAR more aggressive than most of their music, plus this one actually has a bit of a greater meaning to it than expected, and that guitar-work. DEAR LORD. It's unreal. They actually seem to take themselves more seriously with this song than most of their other work. And it's shocking but also a really neat breath of fresh air honestly! Also happens to be one of my favorite songs on the album so far! I actually haven't been disappointed or really see the hate that much so far yet. This has been a blast!

Prescription is a bit more on the silly and fun side, but once again I honestly don't mind, it's a blast and I think it's either about drug addiction of some kind of medication? The production on this album so far has been really good, and there's tons of energy and more, it's not the best I've heard from them so far, but it's still a really solid listen! Alright, so Issues is the next song, and once again, the instrumental is both outdated yet really damn catchy as well. And uhh. The lyrics are definitely interesting. Okay. Call me a horrible person, but if what is said about the lead singer isn't true, then this is kind of the funniest thing I've ever heard. If it isn't, then uhh... awkward. But I'm going to maintain innocent until proven guilty, and I'm kind of separating art from artist as much as I can as well. But I feel awkward about liking it. Alright, well, let's see what's the next song, 'Get It Up' ...huh. weird title, wonder what it's abou- OH. I SEE. YEAH I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO HELL FOR THIS. I'M SORRY EVERYONE, I LOVE THIS AND I'M GOING TO HELL.

Okay. Revenge. Please have mercy on me after those last few, I need something a bit more serious so people don't doubt my credibility at having actual musical taste- Alright. Yeah this is a pretty damn good song with one of the best lines of all time in any song ever. Okay, this one I think I'd be able to play without people thinking I'm insane, and without possibly aging badly. Animal is surprisingly heavy, the riffs are INCREDIBLY loud, but in just the right way, and I love it. It's super intense and incredibly catchy as well. I'm loving this album so far, even though it's not to the exact same extent as their other album. Next song is Mastermind, which already starts out a bit more intense than most MSI, and Jimmy screams his freaking lungs out through several parts of the song, it's definitely one of their most industrial sounding songs, and damn. People actually don't like this song? This is freaking great! Oh and out of nowhere Jimmy claims this song will turn my mother white. Jokes on him, she's already white. HA. GOT YOU THERE BITCH.

On It, has some fucking awesome drumming, but it's about... Yeah. But man, the instrumental has no right being as good as it is. It's such a damn great instrumental, about... well. Yeah. But it's still really damn catchy. Anyways, onto the next song. Pay For It, which this album better do since I need new lungs. It's a bit more on the serious sounding side again, at least, but the lyrics are still kind of nonsensical and dumb, but it's just so catchy that I kind of just feel like it's best to figure on the actual music, which is very good. It's incredibly catchy and more. Especially the PAY, PAY, PAY, part of the chorus. It's so damn catchy. Due is the shortest song on the album, but well. You probably know my thoughts on it, great vocals (IMO), awesome instrumental, and damn. THAT BASS. It's insane. This entire song is just fun insanity, like the rest of the album. Money has a really nice intro with a very crunchy guitar, and it's got an almost slick sound, if you ignore Jimmy's batshit insane performances, it's a fun little contrast, and when it catches up in tempo it's really damn awesome.

Bomb This Track immediately has Jimmy start just doing his hyperfast song which we haven't seen to this extent since Stupid MF, and it's a neat surprise, although yeah... once again the lyrics are very weird, but then before I get to think, Jimmy just starts screaming his head off again, and it's pretty awesome. I don't think people talk about Jimmy's screams that much, but I think they're quite good! Has the right level of aggression while still being coherent. Probably my least favorite song though, but damn. Those screams. They're really good. The final song is about... Well. You know who. Starts out pretty creepy sounding actually, then it goes to standard MSI, and then... Okay halfway through I'm asking myself "What the actual fuck is going on?!" I don't understand a single thing that makes sense in this song, but uhh. It was catchy for the most part? I don't know what the hell to think of this one honestly.

So. That was If. .......................................okay. don't kill me for this. I kind of like it. ...and maybe actually love pretty much almost every song on it?

Suddenly, the entire AOTY community comes and beats the shit out of me for saying I unironically love this album. I'm sorry guys, I tried to hate this album but I can't. It's just too much fun. There's a few definitely weak parts, but for the most part, I just enjoyed the ride and it was a blast.

Just realized I accidentally said "last" when I meant "previous". don't know how I overlooked that but it's funnier to leave it there so I don't really care
