For some reason I went into this album without many expectations… huge mistake
This album has amazing instrumentation: original ,creative and sometimes surprisingly aggressive. Even after listening to it multiple times I kept discovering new details with every listen AND I LOVE THAT 😭

WHAT DID THIS BAND DO TO GET A SOUND LIKE THIS?
Im not exaggerating when I say the guitar work on this album is mind-blowing. The melancholic, almost unsettling guitars on Venus, the massive closer Torn Curtain, and of course Marquee Moon….that instrumental break is literally the “absolute cinema” meme in real life

The Next Day is Bowie’s first album in 10 years, and it’s a fairly long record with some standout tracks such as Valentine’s Day, The Stars (Are Out Tonight), and (You Will) Set the World on Fire, but also a few songs that feel rather average. That being said, most of the tracks are at least enjoyable.
