Pretty interesting! This is an album that I'll need to give several listens to truly appreciate it, but it's impressive stuff!
This was a pretty chill album! Cat Power's vocals kinda reminded me of Florence Welch's vocals a little bit, which is awesome. I loved her voice. This album had a strong start, but gradually the songs started sounding very similar. Overall, pretty good album to put in the background while doing chores.
Holy shit, I was genuinely impressed by this! Someone on here mentioned how it combines jazz with prog rock and I couldn't agree more. No wonder I loved it so much! One day, I'll go more in depth with the themes of the album itself because apparently it's a concept album??? What????? Anyways, really good album overall! Insane that this was their debut album.
I might have to listen to this album again because all the tracks just don't really stand out to me. Also, the vocals to me just sounded a little too processed. The exception is the title track, "Transatlanticism", because of its outro.
Hell yeah, love the instrumentals on this album. Some songs kinda drag, and I wasn't a fan of Peter Steele's voice at first, but it grew on me as the album progressed.
