TL;DR: Periphery wrote a progressive alt-metalcore album, it's quite divisive, I personally love it and don't hear the 'generic' and 'octanecore' criticisms
How is this their lowest rated album?
A Pale White Dot is easily Spencer's best vocal performance - this album showcases his range and emotion even more better than the albums preceding this one. His technical variety, vocal melodies, and production on here are amazing and very pleasing to listen to, ... read more
yeah gimme more of this shit this is the good shit
im calling it now, the second any of these mfs step foot NEAR nashville we're getting a chamber downbeat podcast ep
A more refined but more experimental continuation of Miss Machine, and I do prefer the memorability of Ire Works compared to Miss Machine.
Milk Lizard and Horse Hunter are huge standouts in my opinion
Hectic, chaotic, raw, and gritty, but the softer, melodic elements really give this album an extra layer of depth.
Holy shit.
I really liked Knocked Loose before, but I absolutely love them now.

While I do enjoy Spiritbox's music, this EP doesn't do anything new and it just feels like more of the same. Not that it's bad, but I personally wish it were a bit more progressive.
Probably the most forgettable Periphery album next to their first LP, at least in terms of instrumentals.
While there's certainly some great guitar work and drums, Spencer's vocals are, in my opinion, the standout of Periphery III. I think Spencer's best harsh vocals are in their previous numbered album (Periphery II), this album has his best cleans, vocal melodies and harmonies.
Best song on here for me is Absolomb.
EDIT: 75 >>> 90
Holy shit I was wrong
It's close but Periphery V is my personal favourite Periphery album and one of my favourite albums of all time.
The song structures and arrangements are their best on this album, with some of the best instrumental work I've heard, a stand out for me being the solo in Dracul Gras leading into a softer atmospheric section leading into a face-melting djent section.
I just love listening to it.
