I just re-listened to this album and I have to say there's a reason why this lowkey changed the game. I feel like everything; the aesthetic, the palette (musically and artistically), the fact that you can play any of these songs individually or in the context of the rest of the project (and they still contain the sparks they gave you the first time), all of these things + a bit of ear munchies make this album so of its time but also truly timeless simultaneously. Love when mama/gma talks in the album. Great advice. This album feels like a scrapbook and a cohesive individual case study of a lil brown girl growing up in suburbia. That's kinda really cool. Jokes aside, this album is so freaking good and I need to sell my current copy of the vinyl and get a new one because mine skips because of my sister prolly. Ugh.
