MatC - Utoscapes
82

Gentle, cool, and all-encompassing, an endless ocean of sound. Like watching the tides slowly crawl up along the beach, bringing sea foam and shells, Utoscapes brings plenty of pretty treats to the listener and is never dull with its beautiful soundscapes. For a debut LP, this is an achievement to be savored, and I truly hope MatC can put out more music of this quality, if not better.

Arghoslent - Incorrigible Bigotry
40

Pussywhipped death combined with embarrassing, LARPing lyrics. Skip this one, it's trite, and if you are angered by silly ideobabble then DEFINITELY skip, it isn't worth getting pissy.

DEMONDICE - DEMONDICE EP
4

Uninspired beats, embarrassing lyricism, flows terribly. Nothing I can say has not been said over and over because it is an inexcusably awful EP.

Idiot music.

Gasp - Drome Triler of Puzzle Zoo People
98

Brain-fuzzing sound collages and tape recordings intermingle with crushing and noisy powerviolence, creating one of the most surreal and anxious listening experiences I've ever had. Gasp's output from 1998 to 2005 stands as some of the most inventive and exciting that hardcore will ever be graced with. It's a tragedy that it continues to go unappreciated, while powerviolence becomes more and more stagnant and contrived, trying to perfect the same tired formula, sometimes successful and ... read more

Chris Ray Gun - Ain't No Rest for the Triggered
11

Dude, I would be so embarrassed if I ever made something like this. Soulless, attention-seeking cover that just reminds me that this era of culture war nonsense is revolting and cringy in hindsight and that the worst of it really did come from people like Chris.

Peter Sotos - Buyer's Market
0

The intimacy that Sotos has always had with morbid tales of abuse in order to hack up self-masturbatory trite, along with his desire to share such things with the listener, only produces purposeless exploitation. Buyer's Market does nothing but breed misanthropy disguised as "raising awareness" so Sotos could rake in money from a small but rabidly outraged number of people. Peter Sotos is the lowest charlatan you can find, and his supporters are rightfully upset at the reality of sex ... read more

Nick Land - Meltdown
95

In a perfect world, Nick Land would have continued to make cutting-edge material such as this rather than being an unimaginative and shallow alt-right mouthpiece with a pretty vocabulary.

Hello Kitty Suicide Club - ^_^
12

Goes from jarring to boring to grating, really fast. And the track titles aren't even funny or neat.

It's really difficult to speak on this album without sounding like an overly-serious, "no fun allowed" kind of person, but this album isn't fun no matter how quirky it tries to be so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
