Hope this ain't how the new album sounds cuz man this was hard to get through despite how few tracks there were
So as far as Chase Shakur goes this is another quality project for me overall. I'll get my criticisms out the way 1st though. As far as the song writing here while there are some catchy choruses and great elements here (namely 2ofus and undercover angel) I can't help but feel like there could've been a bit more time taken to write some of these songs out. I believe it would've made a significant difference in a common complaint I'm seeing from people new to his style. ... read more
Better than I thought it would be tbh. I think people are overreacting cuz the beef still. This albums inconsistent but it has good and even great moments.
Favorite songs: Pimmie's Dilemma, Deeper, and Something About You
It's better than I was expecting it to be ig but still a little cringe and confusing. Not a lot of likes from this album. I don't think there's a single track off of this I like enough to revisit but at least the intro was nice and the JID surprise guest verse on fuel. Big sean and Bany Tron also had decent features other than Trons garbage chorus on Tobey. Still at the end of the day my final thoughts on this album are that Em should stop releasing music so he doesn't ... read more
So Mike. How should I describe your album? There's a lot of really fun ideas on this LP. I love the production honestly. Mike's rap performances on here are even good and engaging I'd say but when I hear his voice during them it can't help but feel like this album would sound 10 times better if someone without his accent or vocal delivery were rapping. Don't get me wrong mike flows and bars aren't the issue that holds this LP back. Since this is the 1st album of ... read more
Ok so this was my 1st charli xcx album and while I don't find this LP bad I find it fairly underwhelming as an introduction to her music. For all the overwhelmingly positive reviews I saw this LP get I was expecting this to be something special but instead what I got was a fairly cluttered sounding electro pop album with a constant rollercoaster of inconsistent quality. There's a few kind of fun tracks on this album like club classics, talk talk, and I might say something stupid but ... read more
Holy fuck this might be the worst rock album I've ever heard. Like genuinely how do you consistently have such horrendous vocals in tandem with consistently off sounding guitar riff throughout almost the entire album. Even the song writing is questionable at best. How is this even remotely considered a must hear album on this platform? Hopefully there's better albums by them than this cuz if not they may be one of the worst bands oat.
Gotta say this was a very cinematic album experience.
While I can't say there weren't misses those are far between and few and overall chemistry that future and metro have together shines throughout the album. It ultimately shows me that metro knows his strengths well and tends to stick to them. As far as favorite tracks to name a few standouts there's: cinderella, everyday hustle, young metro, and running out of time. As far as dislikes, like i said prior there are a few shaky moments but most ... read more
At this point he just needs to stop making music cuz this isn't it. The way this album was being praised I was expecting this to be his best album and thinking maybe just maybe he'd improved. Boy was I wrong to think like this. Literally nothing on this album was done any better than on any of his previous projects. The production hasn't improved. The vocal performances have either stagnated or significantly declined, and the rapping more or less is virtually the same. If he continues on the ... read more
Gotta say this is one of the most unpleasant 1st album listens I've had in awhile. I'm already not the biggest experimental hip hop fan in the world but it's albums like these that give the subgenre a bad rap. There were almost no good beats on this album whatsoever. The highlights of the album were Aminés verse on jailbreak the tesla and freddie gibbs verse on wax on. As far as other standout moments gravy and biscuits was enjoyable as well as the album outro 3 man weave.
I honestly ... read more
Song is decent but the flow choice over the beat is kinda sporadic and all over the place. Also some of the background noises on the beat make it hard to focus on the lyrics. All in all not a bad song but the flow could be more smooth and maybe turn lose some of the extra background noises of the beat. Either that or turn up the audio on your own vocals so the beat supports your verse rather than take away from it.
