Another electropop album taking AOTY by storm?! I definitely didn’t dislike this or anything, and it wasn’t without its highlights, but for the most part, this is just pretty unadventurous. There are certainly some tracks to be cut here and some mildly unsatisfying transitional moments, but for the most part, the intricately layered instrumentation and impassioned performances makes this a very enjoyable project.
Something about Bladee’s raw vocals and the spacious production makes for an oddly entrancing experience.
