Geordie Greep - The New Sound

more of an aesthetic than anything else but it's a neat aesthetic. ended up missing the kind of storytelling being flexed on holy holy throughout most of the album even as i was enjoying what i was hearing

Fat Dog - WOOF.

sick as hell industrial dancey dance music kicked my whole ass. og suspiria energy, a neon crime scene.

(except for clowns. idk what’s going on with clowns)

Nails - Every Bridge Burning

borderline accessible

Julie Christmas - Ridiculous and Full Of Blood

yeah idk this is awesome. sporadic energetic and weird, super sincere 00s-relic-y sludge cabaret ??? i love it

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

maybe they're all the same song but in fairness that one song is really good

Gouge Away - Deep Sage

return!! doesn't bite quite as hard as their first two records; i do miss some of that super raw aggression but there's plenty on here i dig. vox are still on point, lovely lovely grr grr. christina's fuckin awesome. that whole run of no release - the sharpening - spaced out - newtau is killer, good as anything they've put out imo. i'd call it a highlight but it's like half the album, so like. good!

Moor Mother - The Great Bailout

death by longitude holy shit

started a little slow for me but sunk into it around 'god save the queen' - that whole continuous run through 'liverpool wins' is great. loved 'south sea' as well, feels like a third act in itself. the whole atmosphere it builds is super entrancing, stark and stripped back but keeps you on the hook. hypnotic glitch fog. really cool really unique project, no idea how much of it i'm going to return to but glad i heard it and glad someone's making stuff like this

Dead Can Dance - Within the Realm of a Dying Sun

like if kate bush did the soundtrack to one of those vaguely horror-themed hidden object games you would buy at walmart in the mid-to-late 2000s. like it comes in the extra thick cd case and there’s a spooky raven on the cover or something. like a few shelves away from the sims 2 expansions. probably has like 12 stickers on it and kinda runs on vista but not well. does anyone know what i’m talking about and also does that sound in any way compelling because it totally should

hard as fuck and lyrically gorgeous. like every track i want to copy lines into a twee little notebook gorgeous i’m kicking my feet over here. an album about being down the most horrendous one could possibly be down

early AJJ preoccupation with flesh and nature + sunnier jeff mangummier title fight = rly rly good as it happens

Casey - Love Is Not Enough
85

short and sweet never boring! really love the cleans, lots of variety instrumentally, every track felt super engaging.

Pianos Become The Teeth - The Lack Long After
85

hit me at shared bodies how much i was liking it, spine is awesome, closing track super super strong. sick!!

IDLES - TANGK
75

apparently they're cornball or whatever now but this is vibey

Swans - The Beggar
80

i did not have a spiritual experience during the 28-day song but it did sound cool

Jeff Rosenstock - HELLMODE
90

i am going to lose several frequencies of hearing putting HEAD on loop
